Fundraising & Consortia Building

We help put a consortium together before a proposal exists, mainly for Horizon Europe and other EU-funded calls.

Our Approach

Getting a Consortium From Idea to Submitted Proposal

Most consortia don't fail on the science. They fail on partner fit, work package design, or running out of time before the deadline.

Finding Complementary Partners

We help identify who's missing from a consortium, whether that's a technical partner, a research group, an NGO, or a public administration, and make the introductions.

Shaping Work Packages

We help structure work packages around what each partner actually brings, so the division of labor reflects real capability rather than a generic template copied from a past proposal.

Supporting the Fundraising Process

From first conversation between prospective partners through to a submitted proposal, we help keep the process moving: coordination, timelines, and the practical work of pulling a joint submission together.

A Realistic Role, Not Just an Introduction

Where it fits, we also join the consortium ourselves, typically on the software, data, and adoption side, so we're not just brokering a match but contributing to the outcome.

Where This Connects

This is the partner-finding and proposal side. The delivery side is a separate, more detailed page.

Once a consortium exists, or once we join one, this page covers the specific roles we take inside it: software architecture, product research, open source strategy, and AI/ML implementation.

How We Get Involved

Earlier is better, but we can join at different stages

  • Before a Proposal Exists

We help scope which call fits, and start identifying the partners a competitive consortium would need.

  • While the Consortium Is Forming

We help structure work packages around partner strengths and identify remaining gaps before they become a problem at submission.

  • Once the Consortium Is Set

We support the fundraising and submission process itself, and where relevant, take on a role in the resulting project.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this specific to Horizon Europe?

Horizon Europe is where we spend most of our time, since it's the funding instrument we know best, but the same partner-finding and work-package process applies to other EU-funded and international grant programmes.

Do you charge for helping find partners?

Talk to us about your specific situation. We're generally more interested in a genuine role in the resulting project than in fundraising consulting as a standalone fee-for-service line.

Will you also be a partner in the consortium, or just help assemble it?

Both are possible. Sometimes we help put a consortium together without joining it ourselves; often we also take a role, typically on the software, data, and adoption side. See our Horizon Europe Consortium Partnership page for what that role usually looks like.

How early should we talk to you?

As early as possible, ideally before the consortium is finalized. The earlier we're involved, the more we can help shape the work packages around who actually fits, rather than working around decisions that are already locked in.

What kinds of partners do you help find?

Depends on the gap: technical and software partners, research groups, NGOs, and public administrations most commonly. We help identify who's missing and make the introduction.
