Frequently Asked Questions
Do we need all 10 modules?
No. Most organizations start with the data lake, ingestion, and map layer, plus one or two risk layers that match their materiality assessment, and add more as needs develop.
How is this different from a vendor's climate risk score?
A vendor score is a single number from someone else's model. These are modules you deploy: you can see the underlying layers, combine them with your own data, and use CLIMADA-based cost-benefit analysis instead of, or alongside, a standardized score.
What is CLIMADA?
CLIMADA is an open-source climate risk and adaptation modeling platform developed at ETH Zurich. We build our cost-benefit analysis module on it rather than developing a closed alternative.
Can this run entirely within our own infrastructure?
Yes. Every module can run on-premise, integrated with your existing systems, or as a managed service, and that choice can change per module as your needs do.
What's the difference between this and the Climate Risk Assessment service?
Climate Risk Assessment is the materiality-led consulting process: prioritization, roadmap, and vulnerability modeling. These are the software modules that process runs on. Many clients use both together.
Is the Climate Risk Tool Hub the same product as this?
No. The Tool Hub is a free, open directory for discovering public climate risk tools and datasets. These modules are for organizations that need risk assessment built into their own data and workflow. They're complementary, not competing.
